Meet Pepper.

Meet Pepper {UPDATE: Pepper found a home yesterday morning! 3/13/06}

The first things I noticed about little Pepper were her delicate mew and the splash of white on her chest. She’s quite a dainty lady and she very carefully inspected the entire studio before consenting to some treats (which she eagerly ran to when she heard the bag crinkle!)

Pepper did not want to be in one place very long, as she hopped from desktop to the shadows behind the backdrop. She was very alert of sounds outside and she very much enjoyed petting (especially in that magic spot right above her tail!)

Pepper was brought to the Humane Society because someone was allergic to her. She is completely declawed, but still loves to bat around toys and paw through catnip.

Pepper is about 2 years old and her new home needs to be completely indoors because of her four declawed paws. She is house broken and VERY affectionate. She is also playful and eager to explore. She does well with children, but hasn’t yet met a dog.

CityDog Magazine: Spring issue featuring J.Nichole

The Spring issue of City Dog Magazine is on news stands today! Pick up your copy at one of Seattle or Bellevue’s fine pet establishments (like Three Dog Bakery or Urban Dog!) In this issue you will find Dane & Dane’s own J.Nichole describing the issues confronting “Dane Outreach” a Washington Great Dane rescue organization. The theme of this article is that there is a desperate need for more education among individuals and families looking to bring a puppy into their life. People don’t always know what they’re in for when they bring a new dog home and these problems can be magnified by giant breed dogs purely because of their size.

Also included with this article are a few of J.Nichole’s Great Dane photographs. Read it here!

Meet Rosy.

Meet Rosie..{UPDATE: Rosie went home today (3-15-06) with a great family!! Congrats little Rosie!}

We don’t know much about this playful pup, other than she was a stray in the Hansville area. She is about a year old and my is she a darling! She hopped and crawled from various soft things in the studio to the backdrop. She only gave me about 5 seconds of smiles at a time because there was just so much to see and sniff! She is absolutely joyful and sweet. She has very kind eyes and a pitbull body of solid muscle.

She did love to be loved and as long as I kept petting her, she layed her head on the arm rest and soaked in the attention. Other than that she was on the go! It seems that perhaps she hasn’t had the best experiences walking on a leash, but most of the time it’s not an issue. She just needs someone to love and adore her and definitely get her a very soft comfy bed (because she couldn’t get enough of olivia’s!)
